Cathy Stein is a consultant and event producer for various organizations including the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Since 2018, she has provided leadership and production logistics for CASEL’s external convenings, including the annual CDI Cross Districts meetings and SEL Exchange as well as serving as the primary vendor liaison for venues across the country, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Sacramento.
Prior to joining CASEL, Cathy spent much of her career in the public sector – including the City of Chicago’s Mayor Daley’s Office, Government Affairs at the Chicago Housing Authority and Executive Director for the Brain Research Foundation. She also headed logistics for a global effort which grew out of a commitment at the Clinton Global Initiative—Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet, a public art exhibition designed to raise awareness of solutions to climate change. Cathy lives with her husband in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. Her two children are recent graduates of UMich and UPenn and are both living and working in New York City.
